Nearly half of all playground equipment is contaminated with bacteria.
Kids are exposed to urine, blood, saliva, sweat, and mucus of others who’ve used the equipment before them, making playground equipment twice the biohazard of a restroom…
Without proper cleaning and sanitation, playground equipment can quickly become a breeding ground for a host of bacteria, germs and viruses that can potentially cause health issues for children. Norovirus, E. coli, salmonella, and hepatitis A are just a few of the common bacterium and illnesses that can be found in children’s playgrounds. In addition, already sick children can present even more of a health threat to other children. Infection can occur with a simple, accidental bump into a contagious playmate or the light touch of a contaminated surface where they can remain active for days.

Vacate. Cordon Off. Inspect. Identify. Clean.
Whether at a residence, a public park, or a public or private school, we will attempt to arrive at a time when children are not present. We then cordon off the play area using caution tape followed by a thorough inspection of the equipment to identify and make note of any hazards that we find that could potentially cause injury. We will forward our findings to you.
We then begin applying our cleaning and sanitation solution which consists of a commercial grade of 2% sodium hypochlorite (bleach), soap and water. The soap is a specialized surfactant designed to cause the bleach solution to “dwell” or to adhere to the surface rather than to immediately run off (which would normally occur).
This dwell time is 10-15 minutes which is recommended by EPA Registration #70271-15 as the time needed to kill all harmful pathogens on Hard Nonporous (HN) and Porous (P) surfaces. This is followed by a thorough, high-pressure rinse to remove and dilute any remaining solution. We conclude the job by removing the caution tape. Contact us today to schedule your project.
